Circadian 03:51
God help us go to bed We’ve been betrayed our phones are dead We hear the coming of Circadian These years have given way  to desperation singing out each day The gaps are shrinking  what the hell have we just done
And there shall come a day  when blisters from the friction heal again  my fingers taking in your skin  I drink it in but I’m no cistern
Circadian Such a cold sun Gravity has won There’s no point trying to run
Circadian Laid bare in the swordplay Dividing joint and bone Spirit from the soul
You can't write your own eulogy  For what you suffer willingly Words rediscovered like a lost melody When those who loved you come collect your body clean you up and dress your body weep upon your chest Burn into a memory
In the shadow looming over me This loomband is my rosary  An apparition I can feel I’ve bottled up the best of me And poured it out at Bethany  A taste of death is an epiphany
Circadian One last revolution Our scars sing out the song The stars try to hum along Love won’t be outdone Love won’t be outdone Love won’t be outdone Ever, Ever

Right 04:20
Round and round we go You see this street is A cassette Where B repeats exactly what we know the other side's just said
We ride upon a track that keeps the cycle of our choices rolling overtop the voices of the ones we dispossess I just wanna do right by you Lord of hosts let down your son to set the table where we finally eat the bread beside the ones we’ve dragged beneath our tyres We’re gonna need the wine to wash the truth down That there's nothing we can do to fix it even if we set ourselves on fire I just wanna do right by you Holy ember burn so bright Touch my mouth put hate to flight Kiss away my need to prove Cause I just wanna do right by you Lord of ages we’ve just begun to face the music to face the sun Lord of hearts the time has come not our choosing but theirs be done I’ve done so much wrong by you

Ghost 03:09
Holy Ghost come and heal my soul Pull me up from the depths below Could you heal my soul right now Holy Brother come heal my spirit when the breeze blows I can't feel it Brother heal my spirit now I don’t know when And I don’t know how But it feels like rain And it feels like now Holy Mother come and heal my body The moral arc's dragging slow and steady Mother heal my body now Well I don’t know when And I don’t know how But it feels like rain And it feels like now It feels like rain And it feels like now

Hide 04:14
Always testing the waters before I'm jumping in I know 16 to 23 ain't gonna kill a man But silent hypothermia sets in and you don't know when  Think I'll just sit here in the shade My wife heard a blue ring washed up on the beach where our kids swim My life is a film on inertia and coming out even But violent anxiety rattles the bleachers I'm sitting in Think I’ll slip under in the shade Cause it's a lonely life When you ain't got no fight And it's a bitter pill When you're just trying to not get killed It's a travesty When pain is all you believe It's ok I'm fine Happens all the time So you can count I'll hide
Rest for a bit here in the shade Happened so quick like a Brutus blade This little kingdom’s gonna fade I’m thinking that jumping this ship could permit me to live again Down into deliverance waters I'll sink or I'll swim again My daughter beholding with wonder the squalor and decadence  Think I could fit here just the same
Cause it's a lonely life When you ain't got no fight And it's a bitter pill When you're just trying so hard to be still It's a travesty When pain is all you believe
It’s a glimpse of light When you crumble and you survive And it’s better still When the fire alarm is a drill It’s a melody When the pain finally sings out in grief Think I’ll come out alive Think I’ll come out alive Like the changing of the tide So you can count I’ll hide

Darling 03:31
In the leaving is the lavishing 6 miles up I feel the gravity In the needing is the reckoning through and through I Wish that you were here next to me In the tasting is the sacrament Wasting nothing of this house we rent In the bleeding is the reverence We have come Far beyond Our innocence (Darling) You’ve been on my mind for days and months and years As I’ve fumbled through the haze and all these fears When we met who would've known that I’d inspire so many tears But almost every night when the babies are asleep Pain somehow finds it’s way to love And you somehow find your way to me, Darling You receive me as the falling snow Every baptism that I provoke You’ve acquainted yourself with my sorrow Everything that’s Infinite and Natural (Darling) You've been on my mind for days and months and years As I’ve fumbled through the haze and all these fears When we met who would've known that I’d inspire so many tears But almost every night when the babies are asleep Pain somehow finds it’s way to love And you somehow find your way to me Yes, pain somehow finds it’s way to love And you somehow find your way to me, Darling
Come to me (Darling) Come to me (Darling) Come to me, come to me

Kingdom 04:03
All in All in All in All in All Image of the invisible Firstborn, like a sign to the patrons and presidents, multinational empires the ones leeching their time upstream from the bloodshed Water turned into wine It’ll never be depleted This love will never die This love will never die In us and to us Beyond us and through us Your Kingdom come Over and under Surround us like thunder Your Kingdom come Break down our bunkers of shame where we hide in the lies And tear down all we’ve built up in vain Sweep it out with the tide ‘Cause in us and to us Beyond us and through us Your Kingdom come Over and under Surround us like thunder Your Kingdom come In the minuscule and the majesty you're holding our existence In the beautiful and profanity you're sharing our existence  In the thrilling and mundane In our numbing and our pain In the One who was slain making everything new again You carry our existence into Kingdom come to Kingdom come Bring it all under cover In the arms of our Mother
‘Cause in us and to us Beyond us and through us Your Kingdom come Over and under Surround us like thunder Your Kingdom come (All in All…)

Southerly 04:31
Brakes take a beating down the pass from Robertson Aloe vera pealed across the Nullarbor down to the rim Never crossed my mind to think about the wind and where its been Hammerhead in brackish water I can’t see what’s right in front of me But I never bothered Sure as hell nobody taught us And I never thought of The intimate lines you were singing to each other Oh, when I waltzed right in  When I waltzed right in
Shaking like a fevered child you take me in and make a bed for me Though we are forsaken Kata’s on her way to cool our heads, you see Burning out the underbrush the canopy protects our memory Undergirding all the us the vapour will condense eventually Everything covered Fathers and mothers Then we can be lovers The intimate lines we’ll be singing to each other Oh, But I don’t know when Oh, But I don’t know when But I don’t know when Southerly   Evening Muse Say you’ll stay Heal the wound  Suddenly Sleight of hand You find a way to cool the land

about

Links to Solastalgia on iTunes, Google Play and Amazon in bio =>

This music came to be on Dharawal land. I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land in which I live and work, in particular the Wadi Wadi and Elouera peoples. I acknowledge the sovereignty of all Aboriginal Peoples and Torres Strait Islanders on this unceded land now known as Australia. I pay my respects to Elders past and present.

May this music welcome all, and for those on the wild road of reckoning with the bondage of privilege, may it provide a little company.

May we abdicate our little kingdoms for the wholeness of this planet found within the cacophony of our shared belonging.

This music is not meant to be any kind of resolution to tensions uncovered. It's written with a hope and belief that if we want to keep inertia at bay, we're better off together.
.
May we all break on through to the other side.

-Chris
